Room Imagery

Not only when you walk into the warm, sweet strawberry smelling room do you feel relaxed but you feel creative. As soon as you walk into the room, it is all white, but there is one window, which is open and a slight breeze is coming threw. On the ground there are paints, white, black, red, blue, purple, and every other color under the sun. There is a note on the door which says "Paint what you will but make it meaningful". You peak out into the hall and you find a all black room, just a light from the open window. The only object in the black room is a pillow placed in the middle of the room. Instantly the feeling of loneliness and emptiness over takes you. You then leave the miserable and find a light pink with fuzzy pink carpet. You feel so peaceful and at home. How can three rooms be the same size, in the same place yet have such a different effect emotionally?

Sitcom

For this assignment, I have chosen the sitcom, Full House. The sitcom is about a single dad raising his three daughters with his brother in-law and his best friend. The episode that I have chosen to write about, is “Come Fly with Me.” In season six. During the episode, the oldest daughter, D.J., returns from her trip from Spain. D.J. told the family she has a surprise for them, only having it turn out to be D.J.’s new boyfriend Steve. While Stephanie and Michelle are not satisfied with the surprise, they decide to illegally get onto a plane that is headed for New Zealand. The settings include, the airport and the plane. There are nine characters total during this episode. The plot structure includes; exposition; when D.J. is coming home from Spain with a surprise, rising action; when her surprise is her boyfriend Steve and Stephanie and Michelle are not pleased, climax; Stephanie and Michelle get onto the plane to New Zealand, falling action; the girls staying on the whole plane ride, finally the solution; when Danny has the girls sent on the next plane back to their home in San Francisco. The type of conflict occurring is internal. The internal problem is that the girls are disappointed with D.J.’s surprise back from Spain, therefor causing them to get on the plane. During the episode, the use of suspense is used. When the girls get onto the plane, Stephanie asks what would happen if someone got caught sneaking onto a plane, and the flight attendant answered with the criminals getting fined and going to prison. Overall, no charges were pressed against the girls, just a very heavy punishment from their father once they were home.

Introuction Paragraph

In 2012, sixteen mass shootings happened, but who or what is the real problem? Have you ever thought about how the Sandy Hook, Aurora, Tucson, Virginia Tech, and the Columbine shootings were all done by a mentally ill person. Both guns and their handlers can be a problem. Is there truly one problem? Or is there multiple that we are neglecting? In the end, background checks before buying guns, and stricter gun laws can help reduce the number or shootings occurring.

Personal Profile

Welcome to my blog! I love softball. My favorite place to be is the beach because it is so peaceful yet the ocean still holds so many mysteries. In my free time, I normally spend it with friends, or watching the Orioles or Ravens. Softball is a big part of my life, I absolutely love the sport. Right now I'm not the best at English, but I hope that changes. My favorite subject is science because of the different paths it can lead. Outside of school and sports, my friends are a big deal. I am always laughing with them.

Thinking about the future is always exciting for me, yet nervous at the same time. I don’t want to grow up too fast, but I'm egger to see what lies ahead for me. A English goal I have is to improve on my reading comprehension. Sometimes what I read goes right threw my brain, its defiantly something I need to work on. For my freshman year, a goal would be to make the schools softball team. And also keep my grades up, going from a public to private school is a big step academically, I want to be able to handle it as best as I can. Finally, a random goal is to find a job that I love and stick with it for the rest of my job life. I want to be happy to go to my job when I'm older, not feel like it’s a drag.

On my honor, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this graded academic work.

First Week

My first week at John Carroll is defiantly one I will remember. The best part was having off Tuesday, it felt like summer again, until I realized I had school tomorrow. Monday wasn’t as scary as I thought, it was a lot easier having only the freshman and sophomores. The worst part about Monday was the fact that I only had about fifteen minutes to eat lunch. But the best part was our guest speaker because he was very funny. I was so glad to have Tuesday off! I was a little disappointed to have Tuesday off though because I have three mods off that day and I wanted to see what the break would be like. Then on Wednesday, it’s what I consider the first day of school because everyone was there. After going to advisory to start the day, I knew this new schedule would take a few days to get used too. My Wednesday schedule is a lot like Monday’s so nothing seemed to change and over all, it was a good day, Next is Thursday, I have a three mod break today too so I was very excited! Also, I don’t have math on Thursday, which I’m very happy about! I really like Thursday’s because I have a lot of the classes I like and I have a good sixed break. That day went even better than I expected, and I had very high expatiations for that day too. Finally Friday! I was very ready for the weekend, even though it was only my first week with a lot more to come! My schedule on Friday is very similar to my Monday schedule so I knew what to expect. Except that I have a mod off, then a class, then another mod off. I would rather have the whole time off at once then it being split. But I can’t chose my schedule, so I have to live with it, not that bad considering that’s the only problem I had during my first week of school. Yes the new building, teachers, schedule, and faces will take some getting used too. But it will be a great time for my high school years. And my first week at John Carroll was a very good and remember able one.
