Sitcom

For this assignment, I have chosen the sitcom, Full House. The sitcom is about a single dad raising his three daughters with his brother in-law and his best friend. The episode that I have chosen to write about, is “Come Fly with Me.” In season six. During the episode, the oldest daughter, D.J., returns from her trip from Spain. D.J. told the family she has a surprise for them, only having it turn out to be D.J.’s new boyfriend Steve. While Stephanie and Michelle are not satisfied with the surprise, they decide to illegally get onto a plane that is headed for New Zealand. The settings include, the airport and the plane. There are nine characters total during this episode. The plot structure includes; exposition; when D.J. is coming home from Spain with a surprise, rising action; when her surprise is her boyfriend Steve and Stephanie and Michelle are not pleased, climax; Stephanie and Michelle get onto the plane to New Zealand, falling action; the girls staying on the whole plane ride, finally the solution; when Danny has the girls sent on the next plane back to their home in San Francisco. The type of conflict occurring is internal. The internal problem is that the girls are disappointed with D.J.’s surprise back from Spain, therefor causing them to get on the plane. During the episode, the use of suspense is used. When the girls get onto the plane, Stephanie asks what would happen if someone got caught sneaking onto a plane, and the flight attendant answered with the criminals getting fined and going to prison. Overall, no charges were pressed against the girls, just a very heavy punishment from their father once they were home.

Introuction Paragraph

In 2012, sixteen mass shootings happened, but who or what is the real problem? Have you ever thought about how the Sandy Hook, Aurora, Tucson, Virginia Tech, and the Columbine shootings were all done by a mentally ill person. Both guns and their handlers can be a problem. Is there truly one problem? Or is there multiple that we are neglecting? In the end, background checks before buying guns, and stricter gun laws can help reduce the number or shootings occurring.
